Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Kayak SUP J Style Storage Rack - MPG344- Video
Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this Malone Kayak storage rack. This storage rack holds one kayak up to 100 pounds on the wall of your garage, boathouse or shed, and this is a one-inch round steel tube that has a powder coat finish for indoor or outdoor installation, and the frame here, the J-style hooks are fully padded to protect your kayak from scratches or scuffs. I'm just trying to give you an overview here of one of these. Now I took some measurements earlier, and I noticed that the J-style hook here will stick out about 15 inches or so from the wall that you have it mounted on. The overall height from top to the bottom of the hook, we're sitting at about 25 inches tall and these brackets, they measure three inches square. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack standup paddleboard and kayak carrier and seeing how it fits on top of our 2022 Ford Maverick. Now this is going to be a saddle-style carrier. What that means is you've got these four pads with the articulating joints. And you're gonna have two on each crossbar, kind of cradling the boat in by the bottom. Hi everyone. Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Class 4 J-style kayak carrier and seeing how it fits on top of our 2022 Ford Maverick. So this is gonna be a J-style kayak carrier. What that means is the carrier itself is sort of shaped like a J and it's gonna hold your boat a little bit more upright like you see here compared to something that's gonna hold it by the hole, it's gonna take up a lot less space on your roof rack like this, and I'm a personal fan of J-style carriers because one, they're very stable, they get a lot of contact on the boat keeping it nice and still when it's on the roof, this one is certainly no exception to that rule, and then also you can just fit more on the roof rack. So if you wanted to take more than just the one kayak with us, we could very easily get another one of these carriers on the other side of our Maverick and get two to wherever we're going. more

Hey, it's Ethan with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Class 4 V2 kayak carrier on our 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. A kayak carrier like this one will help you get one kayak wherever you need it to go, up to 75 pounds. In the case of the Class 4, it's gonna be a J-style hook, which doesn't take up a lot of space on our crossbars at all. So if you wanted to get another kayak up there if your crossbars allow for that weight, you could do that or maybe even fit some other accessories on the other side as well. This carrier is secured on our 49" crossbars here and you can see we're still able to get one of the feet of the actual carrier on the outside which gets the kayak closer to us for easy unloading and loading. more

Hey, this is Ethan at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Nautic Saddle Style Roof Rack Carrier for your kayak or your paddle board on our 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. This style of carrier is gonna be great for, like I mentioned, a longer kayak or a larger standup paddle board, 'cause you do have the ability to load it yourself with these pivoting cradles that we'll get into once we get the actual kayak removed. First thing we need to do to get the kayak removed is to get all our straps taken off. There are four straps included, including the bow and stern straps. To get those removed, we'll start by undoing this hook and loop strap that we're using for our excess, pulling the rest of the strap out. more

This is a fixed J-style kayak carrier, which basically means that it is a J-Hook style carrier, but it's in the fixed position, which means that it can't be folded down. So the way that it's on there is the way that it's gonna stay. It's capable of supporting a kayak up to 100 pounds, and it fits on our crossbar system using these clamps here. The clamps just hold onto our crossbars to this plate, and we just thread these hand knobs to secure it. more

They call it the Downloader, because it does store in this downloaded position, which is nice for if you just leave this on, it's easier to transport, it's more condensed. And then it does fold up, into the J style, which is also nice, because if you want to store multiple kayaks on your crossbars, you can do that. Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Class 4 C2 Kayak Carrier and how it fits on the 2022 Kia Forte. This is one of my favorite kayak carriers. It's definitely a premium one with a bunch of premium features that just makes it easier for you to carry around your kayaks, and you have integrated locks. Now we do have 'em on the SeaSucker round bars, and pretty much no matter what kayak carrier you have, there will be a little bit of rotation on round bars, but this one has it down to a minimum. So this has a bunch of integrated locks, but you aren't able to lock the kayak to the carrier. That's something to keep in mind. more

This is actually my car and I was very surprised to see how many kayaks I could fit on top of the car. So, I'll tell you what I did to make this happen, what are the dimensions and how to tie it down properly. So the roof rack I have on the Prius v is the Inno Aero roof rack with the 54 inch long crossbars and the Through feet. So you can use this with other types of crossbars too, if your crossbars are not longer than 54 inches though or if you have kayaks that are wider than mine this might not work out as well for you. more

In addition, I feel like the J-style kayak carrier holds it really solid as well, everything's cradled in there really nicely, and with all the really nice straps included with this, everything is held in really solid. more

In general, I like J-style a lot better, just because I feel like it gets a really good hold on the boat. And because you are hauling it more upright like this, it leaves more roof space open for another kayak or potentially even a box or a basket. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at our Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier on our 2015 Kia Sorento. What we have here is gray, we can also get it in black. With its raised rails and good roof size, the Kia Sorento was a great option as the vehicle to carry our kayaks to the water. Now, we brought out a bunch of different kayak carriers onto the Sorento, and the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier is probably one of my favorites for the mid-range price point, that's because there's a lot of fun features there, making it easier for you to strap down your kayak, but also creating a nice, stable surface, so we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our vehicle, so you can see how it works with it. So the way this mounts to your vehicle is you need to have crossbars and a roof rack system, if you don't already have one for your Sorento, get one, you can find it here on our fit guide at etrailer.com. Now, this will fit most of your crossbars and roof rack systems, because it has straps and clamps, but it also has a T-track kit included with your carrier. more
